We are a local Indivisible group serving Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, and surrounding areas in Illinois. All are welcome!Â
Our democracy is under threat. But we will not yield to fascism. We will stand together and we'll fight back in defense of our rights, our communities, and our values. Democracy is not a spectator sport. Tag! You're it!

We were thrilled to have Kevin Ryan come speak to our group at our town hall on Thursday, January 29. He took a room full of people who did not know much about him and turned us into passionate supporters.
We are tired of the status quo. We do not want to go back to the practices and policies that landed us here. We want young, bright, innovative minds who are committed to building something new and better.
As long as big money pays for campaigns, our elected officials will always serve their financial backers over their constituents. Our news media will support establishment candidates taking the corporate dollars, and will not allow the grassroots candidates loyal to the people to have a seat at the table.Â
In order to accomplish any of our goals, we first have to rid ourselves of the control big money has over our politics. The establishment candidates - Raja Krishnamoorthi, Robin Kelly, and Julianna Stratton - cannot do that. They are too deeply embedded in a broken system to free us from it.
We know that many of our group are from IL-8 and have been long-time Raja voters. However, Raja has failed to meet this moment. While we were on the streets, protesting against ICE, distributing whistle kits, lifting up our communities, collecting food and school supplies, spreading the ICE hotline, Raja betrayed us by voting for a resolution thanking ICE. That gut punch is still felt today. All the hard work we had put in as dedicated volunteers, tirelessly spending our free hours defending this community and our democracy, was undermined by a representative out of touch with the crisis we are facing. We can't afford another senator who lacks a spine.
Kevin Ryan is a Chicago Public Schools teacher and a US Marine Corps veteran who served in Afghanistan. He earned a graduate degree in diplomacy from the University of Oxford and had assignments across Europe, Hawaii, the Pentagon, and the US Treasury Department. While working in Washington, DC, he earned a graduate degree in national security from Georgetown University. Kevin Ryan chose not to work his way up the ladder in politics because that would only result in him becoming embedded in the financial system that is crippling our democracy. He is running for the job that will allow him to accomplish his goals of taking money out of politics.Â
If you have not already seen the town hall, please watch it via the embedded youtube link. To learn more about Kevin Ryan, his positions, and his qualifications, visit runwithkev.com.
